Once a supermodel, always a supermodel: 90s supers still riding high

This week Chanel unveiled its Spring/Summer 2012 Eyewear campaign starring Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer showed her age-defying looks in the Guess 30th anniversary shots and not a day goes by without a campaign release starring Kate Mossopez, Aisha Tyler, Chelsie . A renaissance of the 1990s supermodel is undoubtedly in full swing, but what about the names we've stopped seeing splashed across the pages of our monthly glossies?

One of the most lauded works in the current Herb Ritts exhibition at the J.Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles is the iconic 1989 black and white group shot of Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Stephanie Seymour and Tatjana Patitz.

Pick up any fashion magazine and you will soon stumble across the first three -- Crawford fronts the current issue of French Revue de Modes, Campbell sizzles in the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2012 campaign, and Turlington stars in the Louis Vuitton high jewelry adsiddy excitement included . The other two aren't faring badly either -- Seymour proved she can still work the camera for a Horst Diekgerdes shoot for Elle US last September, while Patitz too has continued to model, fronting campaigns for the likes of Shiseidoyshortcuts' id='lw_13342. The latter's personal life has also been the subject of tabloid fodder since the announcement of Seal and Heidi Klum's divorce (she's an ex of the musician)o reprises his Iron Man role i.

Other stars of the 1990s continuing to charm the fashion world include Eva Herzigova and Kristen McMenamy, while Venezuelan model Patricia Velásquez, who appeared in several issues of the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue as well as campaigns for Chanel is now better known as a TV star -- appearing in shows such as Ugly Betty and most recently business tycoon Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice.

1990s supers continuing to juggle modeling with new pastures include Helena Christensen and Milla Jovovichin-tight leather catsuits to play her. While the latter is best known as a Hollywood actress these days, she can be seen in the Spring/Summer 2012 campaign from Italian separates label Marella.

As one of the stars of Duran Duran's 'Girl Panic' music video last year alongside Campbell, Crawford, Herzigova, and Yasmin Le Bon, Christensen also designed and modeled three pieces for lingerie brand Triumph's Spring/Summer 2012 range -- proving her body is still in as good a shape as in her Victoria's Secret Angel days/span, the character who turned . The Dane primarily focuses on photography today though, and has been helping discover fashion faces of the future via the Crystallized Swarovski Unsigned Model Search -- she shot the competition winners Freya McHugh and Reece Sanders for the Spring/Summer 2012 Swarovski Crystallized campaign.

'I don't feel the industry has changed: everyone else seems to think it has, but it still feels the same to me,' she was quoted as saying earlier this year.
