Alessandra Ambrosio set to rep Brazil at Olympics closing

There's yet more good news for fashion fans ahead of the London Olympics, with Victoria's Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio the latest supermodel attached to the closing of the games.

While all eyes may currently be on the UK capital, host of the 2016 Summer Games Rio de Janeiro is reportedly sending one of its best known ambassadors to London to participate in the handover of the Olympic Flag from London to Brazil.

According to Britain's The Telegraph July 19, Ambrosio's modeling agency Models 1 has confirmed the 31-year-old will be present to represent the Rio 2016 Games.

Meanwhile, catwalkqueen.tv reports on rumors in the blogosphere that the model will wear a costume created by Brazilian creator Jum Nakao -- famed for making dresses from delicately-cut white paper.

The news of Ambrosio's appearance follows reports earlier this week that British supers including Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell will be taking to the stage at the London Olympics closing ceremony.

Although the show's organizers are keen to keep the plans under tight wraps, leaked documents reported in the British press July 15 suggested the models, along with Stella Tennant, Lily Cole and Georgia May Jagger, will take to the runway to David Bowie's classic hits 'Fashion' and 'Rebel Rebel' wearing creations by famed British couturiers including Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney.

Meanwhile, another Victoria's Secret favorite Miranda Kerr has expressed her desire to attend the opening of the first Victoria's Secret London store when it hits the Westfield Stratford shopping center July 24.

'I'd love to be in London for the opening...The only time the girls are all definitely together is the Victoria's Secret show which is booked so far in advance, but it's hard to say which of us will definitely be in London for the launch just yet,' she was recently quoted as saying by vogue.co.uk.
